Why does compression ratio matters here?

Compressor ratio

It is the difference between Absolute discharge pressure to the absolute suction pressure. Compressor ratio should be less. It should be 1: 2 to 1:3. If the ratio increases, then duty of compressor will increase. Then volumetric efficacy will decrease while increasing the compression ratio. So the ratio should be less.

Single stage compressor

Single stage compressor is used for compressing air from 10 to 30 barg.

Multistage compressor

It is used for compressing air from 250 barg to 300 barg. Efficiency of the compressor is high. Low cost process. It reduces duty of compressor.
Discharge temperature is low.
Low cost.
High volumetric efficiency.
